New Site, New Blog

I began setting this site up over a year ago, but lost track of it due to other commitments and the scale of it all. In fact, this site has been on my mind now for probably over 5 years, but I wanted to cram so much into it, I could just never get it all finished.

That has changed. This time, Im setting up a bare minimum, which hopefully I can add to over time. Now that I dont have 100 things to add, its a lot easier to get the site done, but even so Ive spent all day on it, and still have a lot of gaps to fill. I'll get to those eventually.

Ive always wanted to set this site up as a community for a few geeks who are interested in the same things as me, and want to help out with some of the project ideas I am constantly having. That could still work, but for now Im setting it up just for me - to keep track of what Im working on and as a place where others can see what Im doing.

Ive got the basic structure set up, and most of the permissions, though there are several roles that need to be created so a lot of the site is only accessible to the administrator account. That will change over time as I get the access right. There are one or two little problem areas, but I should also be able to get those working soon, and if I get time, theres the customised theme... for now, this one will have to do.
